2nd week of the 6th six weeks

This week we begin our Science STAAR Review.  We will be reexamining the four categories of middle school science TEKS.
Matter and Energy
Force and Motion
Organisms and the Environment
Earth and Space

Not only will we review the 8th grade TEKS that we studied this year, but we will refresh our understanding of the 7th and 6th grade tested TEKS so that we can be confident of our performance on this year's STAAR exam.

Week 3 of 5th six weeks 3/6-3/10

This week we begin a unit on the atom and the periodic table.  All matter is made up of tiny particles we call atoms.  Atoms themselves are made up of even smaller subatomic particles which we will learn about during our atoms unit.

Week 1 of 5th six weeks 2/20-1/24

This week we begin a unit on force and motion.  We will demonstrate and calculate how unbalanced forces change the speed or direction of an object's motion, and differentiate between speed, velocity, and acceleration.

Week 6 of 4th six weeks 2/13-1/17

This is test week.  Be sure to be prepared for our six weeks exam on Friday 2/17/17.  The exam will cover the topics of ocean currents, weather maps, ecosystem relationships, competition among organisms, and the affect of environmental changes on traits.
