1st Week of 5th Six Weeks

I would like to congratulate the participants and winners of the Regional Science Fair.  You all did an excellent job.  Thank you fro representing our school in a great way.

TEKS 8.5 A
describe the structure of atoms, including the masses, electrical charges, and locations, of protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons in the electron cloud;
TEKS 8.5 B identify that protons determine and elements identity and valence electrons determine its chemical properties, including reactivity;


An atom is the smallest particle of an element.  An atom is the basic unit of matter and is too small to be seen with an ordinary microscope.
Atoms combine in various ways to make up substances we encounter every day.

This week you will create a weather forecast based on data given to you.  You will present this forecast to the class on Friday.
