8th Grade Honors Science

5th Week of 1st Six Weeks

TEKS 8.7 (A)  model and illustrate how the tilted Earth rotates on its axis, causing day and night, and revolves around the Sun causing changes in seasons;
TEKS 8.7  (B)  demonstrate and predict the sequence of events in the lunar cycle; and
TEKS 8.7  (C)  relate the position of the Moon and Sun to their effect on ocean tides.

This week we begin a unit on the Sun, Earth, and moon cycles.  Why is there day and night?  What causes the seasons on Earth?
